After Effects: Dyscalculia

In our research we discovered that there are three different types of Dyslexia such as Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia and Dyspraxia. After research we decided to use Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia in the animation because they are similar to each other.

Dysgraphia – Is the form of Dyslexia when it comes to reading and writing

Dyscalculia – Is the form of Dyslexia in numbers

We all decided to take a slide each and experiment on them and see how they work. I took Dyscalculia and the idea was that the word is spelled out and contains numbers whilst numbers flow across the screen.

I made this as a quick example to the group that shows the numbers flowing down the screen and then settling into the word. The 5 is the S and the ones are l’s. The adaptions and changes that will be made is that there will be numbers crashing and flying across the screen and while that is happening the letters will appear and the numbers will be sliding into the sentence.

After Effects is tricky and a slow process but after a while you get the hang of it. You got to be patient and be ready to ask for help. After watching some You Tube tutorials and asking for help you will understand the program.
